The following song, Glory Baby, by the contemporary Christian husband and wife group, Watermark, has been a source of comfort for us and we wanted to share it with you.  They lost two children to miscarriage and this song was written for them.  I used "no right click" on this page to protect the art work of Jean Keaton, but if you would like a printable and copiable version of these lyrics, please click here.
Glory Baby

Performed by Watermark
on their CD entitled All Things New

Glory baby, you slipped away as fast as we could say baby, baby
You were growing, what happened, dear, you disappeared on us baby, baby
Heaven will hold you before we do
Heaven will keep you safe until we're home with you
Until we're home with you

Chorus

Miss you every day
Miss you in every way
But we know there's a day when we will hold you
We will hold you
And you'll kiss our tears away
When we're home to stay
Can't wait for the day
When we will see you, we will see you
But baby let sweet Jesus hold you
'Till Mom and Dad can hold you
You'll just have heaven before we do
You'll just have heaven before we do
Before we do

Sweet little babies
It's hard to understand it 'cause we're hurting
We are hurting
But there is healing
And we know we're stronger people through the growing
And in knowing
That all things will work together for our good
And God works His purposes, just like He said He would
Just like He said He would

Chorus

I can't imagine heaven's lullabies and what they must sound like
But I'll rest in knowing that heaven is your home
And it's all you'll ever know
All you'll ever know
Taken from the safety of the womb
to the loving arms of God
Excitement built in our home as we looked forward to the births of Jonathan and Katie.  We prayed for our babies at every meal and chose names and made plans, but for some reason -- far beyond our scope of understanding -- God called our little ones home before we had the chance to meet them.

We are comforted just knowing that they are being cradled by God and that they only ever knew the bliss of being in the womb and moving to heaven.  What a joyous thought!

We look forward to joining them one day in heaven where they wait for us as we waited for them.

** We chose the name Jonathan because it means "God gave" and we believe He did give us this little one, although briefly.  The name Michael means "one who is like God".   Who but a child, yet to be born into this sinful world, can be closer to God?  Of course it was too early to be sure of his gender, but it just feels right to us to give him a name so he will never be forgotten...

** We chose Katie's name before she was even conceived.  God showed me that we would have a daughter named Katie and soon after, we discovered we were expecting.  Catherine means "Pure" which is another perfect name for a baby not yet born into sin.  Her middle name, Faith was chosen because our Faith was strengthened as we trusted the omnipotent God in the days prior to her passing

                                        My Dear Sweet Baby,

                                              Today is the day
you were supposed to                                                be born.
I wish we could hold you in
our arms today and hear your
                            little whimpers.  I wish we
could take one breath of that
precious newborn smell and feel your sweet baby breath on our faces.  I wish I could look deep into your eyes and know without words that you love me as much as I love you!

We are so sad that you won't be joining us here on Earth, but we are looking forward to the day when we can join you there in heaven.  Papaw says that heaven is a sweeter place because you are there and that makes us want to go to heaven that much more.

Please know that Mommy and Daddy and the whole family love you very much and we miss you!

Please watch over us from up above.  We will never forget you!

With all my love,
Mommy
